In this day and age, the way we view ourselves is way too heavily based on the views of others. And it’s not necessarily what someone says to you about how you look. It’s all about what you think they might say. No matter who you are, if you’re above the age of eight, then you care about what you wear. You see a shirt in the store, try it on, try it on again for your friend, debate over whether to buy it or not, decide to buy it, bring it home, try it on again, and wear it the next day. No wonder we care so much about our appearance! We spend a good hour and a half with a piece of clothing before we let the world see it! And after a few good wears, what happens to it? It gets crumpled up into a ball, and shoved into the back of your drawer. And then you go back to the store. We all do it, but why? Why do we care if someone wears the same shirt twice? Ever. Because we are over-emotional, way-too-sensitive, flimsy, imperceptible, breakable teenagers. And loving every minute of it.
